Following an "external to internal" presentation, each chapter of this atlas begins by describing the anatomical structure of the organs in a systematic manner, before moving on to regional anatomy. The examination of both superficial and deeper layers should make this text well-suited to students. Cross-sectional anatomy is becoming increasingly important, especially to clinicians, and additional MRI and CAT scans have been included to meet this need. The atlas is prefaced by a short introductory chapter which explains modern diagnostic imaging modalities.
